🎣 Drennan Acolyte Plus Float Rods

The new Drennan Acolyte Plus rods are stepped-up versions of the existing Acolyte Ultra rods, and designed to Alan Scotthorne’s exacting requirements. Both still feature super-slim blanks but pack extra strength to punch out larger floats and control quality fish like carp, tench and chub easier. They are perfectly matched with reel lines from 4lb to 6lb+ and hooklengths from 3lb to 5lb.

The Drennan Acolyte Plus Float Rods are premium lightweight match fishing rods designed to deliver outstanding casting performance, balance and fish-playing control. Developed in conjunction with five-time World Champion Alan Scotthorne, these rods combine exceptionally slim blanks with a progressive action, making them an excellent choice for serious coarse and match anglers.

The Acolyte Plus Float range offers additional power compared with the popular Acolyte Ultra rods while maintaining an incredibly lightweight feel. Featuring a forgiving tip, progressive middle section and powerful lower blank, these rods are ideal for casting larger wagglers, sliders and stick floats while providing excellent cushioning when playing fish.

Available in 13ft, 14ft and 15ft lengths, they are suitable for natural waters and commercial fisheries where precision, control and versatility are essential.

🏆 Why Choose Drennan Acolyte Plus Float Rods?

The Drennan Acolyte Plus Float Rods combine advanced rod design with the experience of world-class match angler Alan Scotthorne.

Their progressive action provides an excellent balance between casting power and fish-playing sensitivity. The forgiving tip and middle section help reduce hook pulls, while the stronger lower blank provides the additional power needed when targeting larger fish.

Despite their impressive strength, these rods remain exceptionally slim and lightweight, making them comfortable to use during long fishing sessions.

With quality Fuji components, traditional three-piece construction and a choice of lengths, the Acolyte Plus Float range is an excellent investment for dedicated coarse and match anglers.

💡 Pro Angler Tip

When fishing with the Drennan Acolyte Plus Float Rod, choose your rod length according to the fishing venue and presentation.

A 13ft rod is a versatile choice for general waggler fishing, while longer 14ft and 15ft models can provide additional line control when fishing at distance or managing floats in flowing water.

Allow the progressive rod action to absorb sudden lunges when playing larger fish, especially when using lighter hooklengths.
