🐟 Mepps Aglia Copper

The Mepps Aglia Copper Spinner is one of the most recognisable inline fishing spinners in the world. Originally developed in France, the legendary Mepps Aglia has earned a reputation among anglers for its reliable spinning action, attractive blade flash and effectiveness when targeting freshwater predatory fish.

Featuring a distinctive copper-coloured rotating blade, the Mepps Aglia produces vibration and flashes of light as it travels through the water. Its classic design makes it an excellent choice for targeting trout, perch, pike and other predatory species in rivers, lakes and canals.

The copper blade offers a warm, natural-looking flash, making it particularly useful in changing light conditions. The spinner begins rotating with a steady retrieve, helping anglers cover water efficiently and attract fish from surrounding areas.

Available in five sizes from 3.5g to 11g, the Mepps Aglia Copper offers versatility for different fishing situations, from light trout spinning to targeting larger predators.

The Mepps Aglia Copper combines a simple, proven spinner design with reliable performance.

Its rotating copper blade creates both vibration and visual attraction, helping fish locate the lure in a variety of water conditions.

Unlike more complicated artificial lures, the Mepps Aglia requires minimal technique to produce an effective swimming action, making it a practical choice for anglers of all experience levels.

With five sizes available, anglers can select a suitable weight for smaller trout waters or larger predator fishing locations.

💡 Pro Angler Tips

For trout and perch, start with Size 1 or Size 2, particularly when fishing smaller rivers or lighter tackle.

For larger perch and pike, try Size 3, 4 or 5 where the additional weight and blade profile may be beneficial.

Retrieve the spinner just fast enough to keep the blade rotating. Occasionally vary your retrieve speed to trigger a reaction strike.

When targeting pike, always use a suitable bite-resistant leader.
